About This Tour

This is a Full-Day guided Tour that begins with a hotel pickup at approximately 9 am. The starting point for the tour will depend on the location of your hotel, either Stone Town or the North. If departing from Stone Town, the first stop will be at the former residence of the famous Scottish missionary and explorer Dr. David Livingstone.

From there, the tour continues to Dunga Village, where you will visit a local factory that produces artistic Zanzibar doors. Get an insight into the working atmosphere and learn about the production process. Next, you will head to Kinyasini Village to explore a local market selling fruits, vegetables, and clothes. After that, you will proceed to Mkokotoni Village to witness a local fish market. On the way, you will pass by a local nail production that is used for the construction of the traditional Dhow sailing boat, which is iconic to Zanzibar.

The last destination on the tour will be Nungwi Village, located on the tip of the North. Here, you will visit a sea turtle aquarium and the local Dhow production site, where you will learn about the production of these iconic boats. After all these activities, you can relax at the stunning white-sand Nungwi beach and enjoy some local cuisine for lunch.
At the end of the day, you will be transferred back to your hotel with wonderful memories of the local culture and way of life.
