7 Days Shira Route
9 Days Tour, 7 Days Trekking And 2 Days Hotel
The Shira route is situated on the western side of Mount Kilimanjaro and bears striking similarities to the Lemosho route. In fact, the Shira route was the original path to the summit, while Lemosho is an improved variation of Shira. Both routes commence from the same point, the Londorosi gate, but there are some differences in the initial ascent. On the first day, the Shira route takes climbers to the Shira one camp, whereas the Lemosho route winds through the mountain forest to reach the Big Tree camp. However, from the second day onwards, the two routes converge and follow a similar course towards the summit.
Day 1: Arrival Tanzania Land
Upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro airport in Tanzania, our driver will be there to pick you up and take you to the Green Mountain Hotel. Once you arrive, you can freshen up with a shower, settle into your room, and take some time to relax. Later on, you’ll meet with your trip guide, who will brief you on the upcoming adventure and check your mountain gear. We advise our clients to take a rest day after a long flight to help their bodies recover and acclimatize well for a better chance of reaching the roof of Africa.
If you happen to forget any essential mountain gear, you can rent or hire it from our store. Please note that we recommend the Green Mountain Hotel for the first and last night of your stay. However, we can offer you a range of accommodations depending on your preferences, from basic to luxurious. The choice is yours.

Day 2: From Hotel to Londoros Gate to Morum Picnic Site
In the morning, your guide will pick you up from your hotel and drive you directly to the Mount Kilimanjaro National Park via the Londorosi gate, passing through the cultivation zone and mountain forest. This day will involve a lengthy drive from the hotel to the starting point at the gate. Once there, tourists can take advantage of a designated resting area while they wait for registration permits and luggage to be weighed. After completing these formalities, we’ll pack up our gear and continue driving to the Morum Picnic Site, where we will commence our hike.

During this time, we’ll stop for a hot lunch.
Following lunch, we’ll begin the hike towards Baranco Wall by descending through the strange yet beautiful garden of giant senecio and lobelia flowers, which can grow up to five meters high. From the top of Baranco Wall, there will be several ascents and descents. The last significant descent will lead us to Karanga Valley, which is the final watering point on this route.
