Considered as one of the finest ways to ascend Kilimanjaro, the Northern route is relatively new compared to other routes. This lengthy route provides ample climbing time and opportunities for acclimatization, making it ideal for those seeking a higher chance of summit success. In addition to its success rate, the Northern route is renowned for its diverse and breathtaking scenery, with relatively fewer visitors compared to other routes.

Day 1: Arrival to Kilimanjaro Airport

Upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, our guide will take you to the Green Mountain hotel in Arusha city. Here you can recover from the flight and get used to the Tanzania environment. Our mountain guide will meet you at the hotel for briefing and mountain gear check up.Dinner and overnight.

Day 2: From Hotel to Lemosho Gate to Big Tree Camp site

After breakfast our driver will pick you up and transfer to Lemosho gate on the Western side of Mt. Kilimanjaro ,the drive will take 3 hours while enjoying the landscape and farms. After arrival at the gate while registration and permit procedures are going on clients can have lunch.We will begin our hike at the Lemosho trail head. we will hike for about 4 hours to the big tree camp. In the forest, exotic moss and flowers delight the eye while bird calls entertain the ear. You may see Black and White Colobus monkeys as well as signs of the elephants that travel in this area. We will overnight at Big Tree Camp

Day 3: Big Tree Camp to Shira One Camp

After breakfast our hike begins in the forest. After one hour hike we leave the forest behind , and enter an environment of Moorland heather and volcanic rock.Just coming out of the forest you will have a beautiful view of the farms and Mount Meru in distance .It is a day of many ascents and descents through the lush hills below the Shira Plateau. Shira is the third of Kilimanjaro’s volcanic peaks. The summit is covered with lava from the Kibo summit. At the end of a long hike you reach the edge of the plateau and the trail becomes easier , we will arrive at Shira1 Camp for the overnight. From the camp you have an incredibly beautiful view of the Kibo summit in the evening.

Day 4: Shira One Camp to Moir Hut Camp

Today we will traverse the Heath zone of the Shira Plateau and begin climbing the western slope of the Kibo Massif. Our hike will pass through Scott Fisher’ memorial camp (the well-known Mt. Everest guide),. We will continue on to the upper heath zone and Moir camp and have a hot lunch. Depending on the weather, acclimatization hikes can be arranged in the late afternoon.

Day 5: Moir Hut to Poffu Camp

Today is long day , our Hike will start with very steep elevation, so it’s best to start out very slowly until you crest the ridge.This day has many ascend and descend.While hiking you will see a nice view of Kibo peak also if lucky day will see wildlife like Antelopes. This is a great acclimatization day.
After arrival at poffu camp will have a hot lunch.Dinner and overnight at Poffu Camp.

Day 6: From Poffu Camp – Third Cave Camp

After breakfast our hike of today will pass through many different landscapes. It leads through valleys, alpine and heathland landscapes. The Northern Circuit route continues eastwards. The path is not much frequented and gives you the opportunity to contemplate the landscape, wilderness and beautiful mountains in peace., we will arrive at Third Cave Camp for the overnight.

Day 7: Third Cave Camp to School Huts Camp

Our hike of today, We get into our highest elevation camp, It is crucial to keep hydrated along the way, and we recommend drinking plenty of water ,upon arrival at school huts .This is especially important as you prepare your body for the high altitude you will encounter during your midnight ascent to the summit. After lunch, we advise our clients to take ample time to rest and prepare for the final push, which commences around midnight. And after earl dinner is best to get to bed early for some rest before you start your night-time summit ascent .

Day 8: From School Huts – Uhuru Peak – Millenium

Summit day. Your guide you’ll wake up and have a cup of tea and some biscuits, preparing for the most challenging part of the hike.
This part of the route is starting in the midnight with climbing up along the slopes.it will take approximately 2 hrs to reach Hans meyer’s cave which serves as an excellent pit-stop to hydrate before pushing on .From here the gradient gets steeper and The trail then ascends sharply in a zigzag fashion, The climb continues for another three hours to Gillman’s Point (5681m), situated at the crater rim.This section is highly demanding, with a lot of loose stones, necessitating significant physical and mental exertion. It is highly recommended to take it slowly (pole pole in Swahili). From Gillman’s Point, you’ll typically encounters, we can see the glaciers of Kilimanjaro,mount meru as well as beautiful lands of Tanzania and parts of Kenya. After a summit celebration and photo, descend to Barafu camp for lunch and then to Millenium camp for the overnight.

Day 9: Millenium Camp to Mweka Gate

When you wake up today, you will feel the comfort of the decrease in altitude and the satisfaction of having reached the summit . After breakfast, we’ll begin our descent through the moorlands, passing by mweka camp and traversing the mountain forest. Around noon, upon arrival at the gate, your mountain crew will celebrate your achievement with singing and dancing, hailing you as heroes who successfully summited uhuru peak the roof of Africa. You will also be presented with mountain certificates, acknowledging those who reached the summit. After tipping the mountain crew, you’ll be transported to Moshi town for lunch. Following lunch, you’ll be transferred to the hotel for an overnight .

Day 10: Kilimanjaro Airpot-Departure Day

On this day, you have the option to be transferred to the airport for your home bound flight or connect to another destination, such as a day trip, safari with Rashad Adventure, or a beach holiday in Zanzibar. The choice is yours to make.
